hargrid- doesn't take care of himself, dirty clothes, scruffy hair
broken door- signifies the strength of Hagrid.
Shotgun- fear that Hagrid implements on the characters, yet Hagrid isn't scared of the gun so it may show that Hagid is not scared of what normal humans would be, shows his supernatural characteristics as soon as he is introduced.


cake, used for humour- signifies a birthday (Harry's) and it shows that Hagrid cares for Harry despite Harry not knowing him.

Harry- naivety of situations that may have shown him of his supernatural powers. - dramatic irony, as the audience know but he doesn't.
